HOW WAS IT?

THE BEGINNING OF THE JOURNEY

This time the departure fell on the Winter celebration period, and the participants received a chance to visit the exhibition about Christmas. And on the way to Sweden, this time we were warmly welcomed in Warsaw by our Polish partners Medicover Foundation who arranged for us a short break on this long road.

GETTING ACQUAINTED

Getting to know the participants brought great pride of our group. Everyone has their own incredible life story and we are proud to know such people.

After a short walk around the grounds of our island hotel, we had a powerful lecture by the legendary researcher of Swedish archives, Maryna Trattner.

ART

The third day of the Repower project was about connecting with creativity — we spent the whole day at the Artipelag art museum. We were personally met by Bjorn's family, attended a Basic Ph lecture, art therapy sessions, and had an invigorating walk along the picturesque coast of the Baltic Sea. This time we were treated to an immersive theater with dressing-up, where each medic could transform into any image.

CULTURE

On this day, we visited the Viking museum and the Skansen, open-air ethnographic museum. Then we a great walk through the city of Stockholm and meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and the Minister of Health of Sweden. We discussed the possibilities of partnership in training and exchange of experience between Ukrainian and Swedish doctors, medical supply needs and many more.

A DAY ON THE ISLAND

On this day, we did not go anywhere and decided to enjoy our island. First, the Swedish forester Hans took a walk on the outskirts of our area.

Later, friendly Swedish companies and charities such as Apotea and Operation Change came to visit us. We prepared lunch together with top chefs from the Swedish Association of Chefs, and after dinner we sang by the fire.

STOCKHOLM AND THE GALA EVENING

На шостий день проєкту Repower ми відвідали у Стокгольмі мирну демонстрацію на підтримку України, організовану нашими хорошими партнерами Nordic Ukraine Forum.

А далі — святкова вечеря у нашій затишній локації, чарівний голос українського артиста Laud та просто теплі розмови з такими близькими тепер людьми.

Early in the morning we had a meeting with the Minister for Defense of Sweden

Early in the morning a meeting with the Minister for Defense of Sweden took place. We raised the issue of providing armored evacuation equipment with EW systems, the possibility of equipping medavaks with oxygen concentrators of the SAROS 3000 type, discussed the urgent need for drones for medical evacuation and other medical support needs. This was our chance to contribute to the next aid package to Ukraine.

This day we spent in Warsaw within one more important meeting

On the way from Sweden, the participants met in transit Poland with the First Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Władysław Bartoshewski, the Director of the Military Medical Institute, General Gregorz Gelarik, and the Ambassador of Sweden to Poland, Andreas von Beckerat.

This day was accompanied by endless hugs and thanks for a successful trip and recovery

At the train station in Kyiv, we were met by the commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General of the Medical Service Anatoly KAZMIRCHUK, which once again showed the importance of our doctors.

More than one month has passed since our return, and in our favorite chat with project participants important tips and successes of our Ukrainian heroes are exchanged every day!
