Supporting Recovery Through Shared Meals

In December 2025, the Electrolux Food Foundation supported the Repower project covering a full meals for our entire group of participants during the recovery program.

At Repower, meals are never just meals. They are moments of pause, connection and restoration. They create space for conversation, reflection and human warmth. Thanks to this support, our participants could gather around the table not only to eat, but to feel cared for.

Who is the Electrolux Food Foundation?

Founded in 2016 and funded by Electrolux Group, the Electrolux Food Foundation is an independent non profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable food choices and supporting people in need.

The foundation works to inspire healthier and more sustainable eating and cooking habits among both consumers and professionals. At the same time, it provides support through education initiatives and emergency relief efforts.

Its work contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12) and Global Partnerships for Sustainable Development (SDG 17).

Why Food Matters in Repower

The Repower program combines psychological recovery, professional exchange, cultural immersion and social connection. Each day includes structured psychological sessions, group reflections and social activities designed to support holistic recovery. Shared meals play a vital role in this structure. After morning practices and psychoeducation sessions, participants gather for lunch. After a long day of professional exchange, art activities or cultural immersion, they sit together again in the evening. These shared moments help regulate the nervous system, restore energy and strengthen the sense of belonging within the group.

For Ukrainian medics who work daily under extreme pressure, the simple act of sitting down to a warm, thoughtfully prepared meal in a safe environment carries deep meaning. It signals dignity, stability and care.

A Partnership That Reflects Shared Values

The support from the Electrolux Food Foundation reflects a shared belief that food is more than sustenance. It is connection. It is health. It is community.

By funding  meals for our group, the foundation became part of our recovery journey. Their contribution helped transform ordinary moments into meaningful ones. We are deeply grateful for this support and proud to stand alongside partners who believe in sustainable choices, global solidarity and concrete action.

If you or your organization would like to contribute to future Repower projects, we are always open to new collaborations: maryna@repower.ngo
Together, we can continue creating spaces of recovery, dignity and hope.
