THE FORCE OF NATURE: the force of war, the force of humanity, the force of solidarity
Swedish nature did not erase war. But it gave Ukrainian frontline medics the chance to rediscover that nature can also be a source of strength.
THE FORCE OF NATURE is about what war changes, what humanity protects and what solidarity can restore.
For most people, nature is a place of stillness.

War changes the nature of things. Forests become minefields. The sea carries missiles and naval mines. The sky is searched for drones. When survival becomes instinct, even nature can feel like a threat.
In 2024, Repower's 11th psychological recovery programme brought Ukrainian frontline medics to Gotland.During their time on the island, Swedish photographers Kegen Lorentzen and Fanny Lindström documented the moment when the world no longer had to be read as a threat.

The forest could simply be a forest.

Tvhe sea could simply be the sea.

The sky could simply be the sky.
THIS VIEW HELPED SAVE LIVES. Imagine living in a world where nature no longer feels safe.Where forests are searched for landmines.Where the sea carries warships and missiles.Where the sky is watched for drones. For Ukrainian frontline medics, the landscapes of Gotland became a place where nature did not have to mean danger.Discover THE FORCE OF NATURE a photo exhibition about the nature that helps those who save lives.
